Its that time of year again and Seasonal Rhinitis or Allergic Rhinitis (big terms for allergies or hay fever) are back. This condition can occur anytime of the year, but most typically occurs in the spring when certain plants are in bloom. Along with pollen, mold, dust, environmental factors, and animal dander can all cause Allergic Rhinitis, with the most common symptoms including, sneezing, watery itchy eyes, headache, nasal congestion and drainage.
While I understand that prescription drugs are necessary for some individuals, in my experience I have found many over the counter and herbal preparations that effectively treat allergies and hay fever. Not surprisingly, one treatment that is widely recommended by the World Health Organization is acupuncture.
I have used acupuncture to treat several people with allergies for many years and often after as few as 2 - 8 treatments their symptoms have cleared for the remainder of the pollen filled year. So if allergies are effecting you, consider acupuncture, a safe, affordable option to treat this pesty condition.
