Community Style Acupuncture
Traditional in Asia, community acupuncture usually occurs in a group setting of three or more people. In my clinic we strive to maintain this tradition. I use three reclining zero gravity chairs positioned in a circle, in a quiet, relaxing, space to treat multiple patients at once. Treating patients in a community setting has many benefits: friends and family members can come in together (which many patients find comforting), and there is a collective energetic field established which can make treatments more lasting and powerful. In some styles of acupuncture, the needles are removed after only a few minutes and at most, are left in for a half an hour. In the community style of acupuncture, each individual is allowed to keep their needles in for as long as they want up to an hour. Many people fall asleep during their treatments and wake up feeling energized and refreshed.
